| WHAT ARE THE BASIC COMPONENTS OF THE AEC TRACKSYSTEM®? |
There are three basic components: TRACK; CORE; and FABRIC (or finish material) and are installed in this order. For more detailed information, continue reading this section.
The TRACK is first to be installed and can be attached to the wall, ceiling or furring strips. It can be configured in just about any desired shape or pattern for your space. We offer over 30 different extrusions in varying depths from which to select including square, beveled, or radius and can be interchanged to create even more interest in your design such as mid-seam reveals, curves or patterns. Our sales consultants can assist you with the design and help answer any question you may have.
Second, the CORE is installed which can be specified acoustical, non-acoustical, tackable, nailable, magnetic or a combination of these. To optimize the acoustical performance of a space, a combination of diffusive, absorptive and reflective materials may be used.
Third, the FABRIC* selection is installed by stretching and tucking it into the track. *The track will accommodate most FABRICS, however when choosing your fabric or finish, be aware of certain fabric tendencies. Since the FABRIC is stretched extremely taut, fabrics such as nylon, rayon, linen, silk or high content of these components may NOT BE SUITABLE for any track system due to the instability of these fabrics to expand and contract on vertical surfaces. Also, fabrics with BACKING such as drapery or upholstery fabrics are NOT ACOUSTICAL and defeat the acoustical properties of the CORE if acoustical performance is critical. AEC can ASSIST you with FABRIC SELECTIONS that are most suitable for the goals you have for your space as well as those that are most suitable for the AEC TrackSystem®. |
| WHAT STAGE OF CONSTRUCTION IS THE AEC TRACKSYSTEM® INSTALLED? |
Our crew of Installers is normally one of the last crews to go into the space. The TRACK, CORE and FINISH need to be installed to drywall or some sort of finished wall structure. That usually means the flooring and ceiling work is complete as well. Also depending on color and/or tendency of the chosen FABRIC (or finish), there is a risk of the finish being damaged by another sub-contractor. PLEASE NOTE: The AEC TrackSystem® installation should be coordinated with the General Contractor and other Trades.

|
| DO YOU HAVE TO FIELD MEASURE? |
No, unless architectural drawings are unavailable. Since the AEC TrackSystem® is site-fabricated, there is generally no need for us to come out and field measure the space. We obtain necessary information from architectural drawings prior to the installation date. All the necessary TRACK, CORE, and FINISH material is ordered and in-hand so that our Installers are prepared to begin work upon arriving at the site.

| DOES AEC PROVIDE MOCK-UPS OF THEIR AEC TRACKSYSTEM®? |
Yes! Mock-ups are provided upon request but are only used to show a BASIC REPRESENTATION of the AEC TrackSystem®. The fabrics/finishes used on our mock-ups are simply samples and are NOT representative of your only choice of fabrics or finishes! Also, the mock-ups are small, again meant only to be a representation of the actual AEC TrackSystem® - it is not representative of size, shape, or a pre-fabricated panel that AEC produces and brings to a job site. Remember, your choices are virtually limitless as we are a custom installer.

|
| WHAT ARE THE DIFFERENT SIZES OF PANELS WE HAVE TO CHOOSE FROM? |
The AEC TrackSystem® panels are only limited by the overall width of the fabric or finish you choose. Since the AEC TrackSystem® is totally customizable and not pre-fabricated your choices are virtually limitless! You are really only limited by your own imagination!
